ASIAWIDE MEDIA ENHANCES STYLE, FUNCTION OF COCA-COLA’S ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS CENTRE | |||||
Hong Kong, October 1, 2003 - Asiawide Media, a leading Hong Kong web development and print publishing agency, today announced the relaunch of The Coca-Cola Company’s Asia Group intranet. Known within Coca-Cola as e-UPDATE, this internal communications tool is an interactive news and information resource for employees spread across a vast geographical and culturally diverse area. Coca-Cola e-UPDATE serves staff in more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including China, India, Japan, Thailand, Australia and the South Pacific islands. Launched in May 2002, the database-driven website, which is managed with a custom-built content management system, has grown to include more than 1,400 Coke and industry-related news articles, as well as corporate messages, country backgrounders, real-time stock market data, Coke brands information and global weather forecasts. With the second phase development of e-UPDATE comes a site-wide redesign to incorporate Coca-Cola’s new worldwide branding, streaming video capability, message boards, individual home pages for key company divisions, and an image bank designed to place thousands of Coke and industry-related pictures at the fingertips of staff throughout the region. The original Coca-Cola Asia e-UPDATE website and the second phase development were the result of a collaboration between lead agency WordAsia, a Hong Kong print communications and publishing company, Exapsoft, a Hong Kong software developer, and Asiawide Media. Asiawide Media was chosen to project manage the website development, create content and lead the design team, because of its extensive record of client satisfaction and its knowledge of cutting-edge design and technology.
